
How can I configure appointment syncing so that users are able to sync meetings/appointments from their Outlook to the CRM without the CRM syncing any changes back to Outlook? The issue is that the CRM is e-mailing users when a change is made to the appointment in CRM.
I've seen a solution posted to use system filters which may work but does anyone know what filters to use?
Or any other suggestions on how to solve?

As you said, you need use system filters to achieve your goal, which can prevent any appointments to be synced.
As we can see there are no options (no new button) to create new System Filters from the user interface.
The only way we can create them is through SDK.
Or you can try to create User Filters for one user,then you can apply the same setting to the others(ALL) users, we can use the wonderful Sync Filter Manager – XrmToolBox plugin.
