Hi,

I want to know how to create advance payment invoice from Job.

There are 2 types of WIP methods we use, one is Completion and the other is POC. In our projects, we send advance payment invoice to our customers.
1st: 30%
2nd: 30%
Final: 60%

Is there a way to make advance payment invoice in Job module?

Thank you.

    Hello,

To create installment invoices on a Job, you create Planning Lines for the incremental installments (30, 30, 60%). You plan these lines billable and the actual cost and items are Budget level lines (planning lines). Here are a few screen shots:

Hope this answers your question. Note that I will Job Invoice the Planning Lines when the Installments are due:

    Hi Steve,

    Thank you for your reply.

Let me confirm it is important to separate Budget and Billing.

And in the billing area, G/L Account, which is Revenue/Income, is set in Job Planning Line.

    Hello,

Here is the definition, in case you do not know, of the 3 choices:

This field defines the type of the planning line. 1. Budget – The planning line contains expected usage for the job that will not be invoiced to the customer. Use this option if the costumer will be invoiced from a
different planning line (of type Billable or Both Budget or Billable), or if the expected usage for this planning line is not chargeable. 2. Billable – The planning line specifies an amount that will be invoiced to the customer, but no usage relates to the line. Use this option if no budget of usage has been planned for the job, or if the expected usage for the job has been specified on different planning lines (of type Budget).
    3. Both Budget and Billable – The planning line contains expected usage for the job that will be invoiced to the customer. Use this option if the budgeted usage equals what you want to charge the customer.

In your case, the Budget line holds the actual Usage charges and the Billable line are specific installments for invoicing.

    Thanks,

    Steve
