I have a customer who has recently updated Management Reporter to MR 2012 build 2.1.1033.30 in order to use the Excel linking for Rows and Trees.
I was able to help them get the linking past a couple of error messages by using the UNC path naming suggestions on other posts. We are now able to get to the UNC location but are getting an error such as this: "The report is linked to an Excel file \\FS1\Accoutning\a1.xlsx that could not be accessed. The current user does not have access to the folder."
I have checked the folder security and both the user and the MR service user have full access to to \\FS1\Accounting.
I had the customer also check the security on the sharing. I think how they set up their sharing MAY be the issue, but I cannot know for certain. Under Share Permissions for the Accouting folder, they have Everyone with Full control, they then have NTFS permissions for the MR service user and their domain users. Their domain users are not listed separately. They are set as GTL\GTL Users with full control. The MR Service user also has full control under NTFS permissions.
This customer always gives share permissions to the "everyone" option, then limits permissions using NTFS.
Do I need to have them grant Share Permissions to the MR Service user to make this message go away?
Any assistance is appreciated! Thanks Much!
