an activity for different fields

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

hello experts,

create an activity to attach documents, my idea is to use that activity for 3 different fields that I will call x, y, z

my problem is that I do not know how to do to use the same activity for the 3 and not to mix all the data.

Any doubt would be very helpful

thanks,

    Hello Camilo0113,

You can create a custom activity entity. That can have custom fields.

Let's say 1 field is a type. A or B. For that activities main form you can show/hide fields  depending on the type.

The activities can have a regarding field set to your opportunity.

Or you can have 2 different activity entities.

    Good luck!

I think that you will have to use WebApi to accomplish this, as you don't really have control over what you are doing in Notes/Activities Controls.

Using WebApi you can create the required records and pass values to the functions that will create them, so that the values will be different based on your requirements.

    Hope this helps.

RE: an activity for different fields

Hello, This is what I want to achieve. in the opportunity I have two fields of type search x, and the two fields call an activity called attach document. What I need to achieve is that the fields call the same activity but the information that hosts each one is different from the other.

    Hi Camilo,

Your questions is not very clear.

Activities are related to entity records, not individual fields.

Can you explain what you are trying to accomplish?
