Hi I am importing the data from Excel into Microsoft Dynamics AX using the Run Base Batch.

During the import process if I don't click any where on the form than the data is successfully import but if click any where on the form during the import process than I am getting the following error message:

Method 'item' in COM object of class 'Range' returned error code 0x800A01A8 (<unknown>) which means: <unknown>.

I have also checked this changing the file run property to server, client and call from but this solution didnt worked.

infolog.yield() is also used but this solution also didn't work.

I will be thankfull if anyone provides me the helpful solution.

Thanks

Muhammad Zahid.

    Hi Muhammad

As per my knowledge, this is an issue related the com objects usage.

To avoid this problem, I suggest you to use DIXF and if necessary, create a specific Entity, etc.

    Hi Danis,

It will take some large amount of time to implement this from scratch.

Can you please suggest me some other work around that will be a quick fix.

I have also manually created the staging table than first inserted the records into this staging table and than started processing from staging table but this solution also didn't worked for me.

    Thanks

    Muhammad Zahid

    Hi Muhammad

You could run the process in batch.

You have to install Excel on AOS Server.

    Let us to know.

    Hi Denis,

Microsoft Excel is already installed on the AOS Server.

    Thanks

Would you please elaborate a little bit more, "click any where on the form than the data" ?

    Hi Afnan,

I am importing the Journals from the excel sheet using the Run base batch.During the process of uploading If I don't click any where on the form than the data uploads successfully and shows on the form but if I click any where on the form during the upload process I am getting the error message that I have mentioned above.

I have also change the design of code. first we are fetching all the records from the excel sheet and inserting them in to the staging table and than starting our process but still same error message appears.

    Thanks

    Muhammad Zahid.

That seems weird. However, I believe you should verify all excel ranges (cells) you are hitting in the code for fetching data.
