Use dimensions on a custom table

Posted on by 161

Hello,

I have created custom table - Industry Type, which I utilize for a custom dropdown field on our Sales Orders.

I would like to attach an Industry Type dimension to the options of this custom table.

Is this possible?

Thanks,

Dustin

    Ok. Now i understand.

    That is definitely possible.

Then you will need to add a dimension set field to your table and use the DimensioManagement codeunit to manage the dimension sets.

    Thanks for the quick response.

I would like to relate the standard BC dimensions to the items on the table, same as you would with other standard table in BC.

    Example -

If you are looking at your Salespeople/Purchasers List, you can relate dimensions to them by highlighting the item, then going to related, dimensions and then selecting the correct dimension set.

    Thanks,

    Dustin

You mean like an option field? Or do you want to relate your new table to the standard dimensions in Business Central?

Maybe you can share your table and try to explain a little more?
