We have credit card processing set up in MS POS2009 but when we swipe the card the information does not parse correctly and does not populate the fields correctly for card number, CCV, etc.  Has anyone gotten this to work?  (We got the same result with gift cards --- dont scan properly)  Jean

Jean, Have you checked the output? Is there a carriage return between tracks 1 and 2? What type of reader? Regards, Chris Nudd P.O.S. Direct http://www.posdirect.com

Thanks for your reply Chris.  We found the problem.  There were two MSRs on that machine, one on the ELO and one USB unit.  The ELO was properly registered with POS the USB unit was not.  Once we identified the hardware properly, it started working correctly.

    Hi Chris,

I'm having the same problem with my MS POS 2009 install.   When my register was running RMS, the IDTECH swipe I have (model #IDT3331-33UB) was properly parsing the CC information into the RMS system's credit card input screen.  Now however since upgrading to MS POS 2009, all of the CC info is going into one field on the credit card input screen when I do a swipe.

I believe the parsing is working correctly as I have reviewed the IDTECH documentation and I'm getting two lines of output in notepad when I do a swipe.  The first line starting with '%' and ending with '?'.  The second line starting with ';' and ending with '?'.

It would appear that the problem is with the MS POS 2009 software not having the correct driver for the device.  For the register properties, I have two different MSRs listed as 'Available Devices'.  One is USB Keyboard MSR and the other is Wedge Keyboard MSR.  Both of them have the same problem.  I looked at the IDTECH website and could not find anything driver-related that I need to install so I'm back to thinking the the issue is with the MS POS 2009 software.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

    Erich Krueger

Check to see if your device is registered as HID or Keyboard emulation.  You may need to get a utility from IDTECH to invoke the right one.  I believe it has to be Keyboard wedge.  We had a similar problem but when we reprogrammed the MSR it started working.  We were using a magtek.

Hi, I'm having the same issue with pos 2009 that all the info goes into the one field, i'm using a WASP WMR1250

Can somebody please help me with the output

    %B1111111111111111^DOE/JOHN^YYMM111111111111 22222222222?
    ;0000000000000000=11111111111122222222222?

    1) is line 1 track 1 and line 2 track 2?

    2) do I need a carriage return between tracks 1 and 2?

    3) do i need a carriage return after track 2?

     4) do I need to add the Wedge Keyboard MSR to the register?

I would greatly appreciate any help on this as WASP support is not really helping me

    Chris,

I have Microsoft Dynamics POS 2.0 installed in a Bar setting and I have it working all but the Credit Card Processing. I have a Merchant Account and they sent me Some info that I added to the processimg section. It will not work. Is there anything special that I need to know how to set this up.

    Thanks

    Jack

First of all are you sure you are using a compatible preferred acquirer? Vital? Make sure all of your fields are correct. You should be getting a message back what the error is. Does the payment type checked to use EDC? There is a step by step checklist for setup on customersource and partnersource I would make sure all the steps are followed correctly.

I have the same issue since upgrading to Windows 7 x64. Did you ever get an answer? I have a case open with Midrosoft and they told me they have others with this same issue. We have random success. 6 work in a row, then 3 fail, two work.... I have two lanes and two different MCRs and both are working randomly. I was told MS Development is working on the issue.
