Inside D365 Finance & Operations there are more than 200 Plus posting types some of which shown in the Screenshot below.
Can we create our own custom Posting Type ?

The LedgerPostingType enumeration is set to be extensible. You can add new types as a customization.
Whats the business case here, think though when adding new values here and the value might linking to other tables as well.
There are 2 Business cases involved
1. In the Charges in Sales & Purchase setting a Posting type is Mandatory for Ledger so to make more sense to my transaction I wanted to create a custom posting type.
2. This is a more complex business process where a new Subledger will be Customized, thus new Terms and meanings will be required to give the posted transaction meaning and also enable some rules behind the posting types.
