Load details cannot be deleted Container Details exist. Delete dependent container details and try again

Hi everyone,

I have a user issue where item was short picked for 7 pcs against a sales order work quantity 8 pcs and due to work exception code it auto triggers cycle count work.

But  also system tries to find a new pick location where inventory is available and when there is no location with available inventory ,it for some reason selects Pick location = PACK for short picked qty i.e. 1 in this case.

Does anyone knows that what is going wrong that system is directing to select PICK location =PACK when no location found and how to correct this?

User manually then unpick the goods and delete the wave and shipment so that order can be released again with correct Pick location.

-------------------------------------------

In this case Work as shown above is cancelled, Wave is removed which I can see is not reflecting now in Shipment. However, when trying to remove load lines error "Load details cannot be deleted Container Details exist. Delete dependent container details and try again".

Container associated with this load/shipment somehow is closed with no contents. When trying to reopen, it throws error "The container XXXX is not on the packing station".

Can anyone help me to troubleshoot this so that I am able to remove load lines ? There are 2-3 another Sales order with same issue.

Thanks

    Hi Gaurav,

Can you remove line with "Zone Id JIT" and try it again?

    Hi Gaurav,

Thanks for sharing. Can you also share screen shot of the pack location with the zone?

    Regards,

    Hi Laurens,

Location Profile ID=PACK is mapped under Zone WHS and you can see in query criteria already says !WHS. I also tried on query directly using Location Profile ID= !PACK.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Gaurav,

That's correct. Can you share a screen hot of query of the location directive actions?

    Hi Laurens,

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried re-configuring location directive however no change.

My observation is that if in work exception code setup= Item reallocation is kept as Automatic for short pick , then system selects Pick location = PACK , as for that item there is no inventory available at any other location except location having profile ID= PACK. PACK location is showing available physical inventory quantity because these items are waiting at pack station to be packed into container.

As per my understanding Automatic reallocation of item (defined in work exception code) is dependent on location directive and in the query already it is defined for PICK work type to exclude PACK Locations under Location Directive Actions query. So not sure why it is still suggesting Pick location=Pack on short pick cases when no other location is having inventory?

IF in work exception code setup= Item reallocation is kept as Manual for short pick , then system doesn't suggest Pick location =Pack if inventory is not available at any other location for the item.

Client is using item reallocation for short pick work exception as "Automatic and Manual", hence based on first automatic reallocation it is suggesting PACK location.

    Hi Gaurav,

Can you remove the location directive and configure it again? I encountered  a strange behaviour of the location directive in the past. Microsoft adviced me to remove the location directive and configure it again. The advice of Microsoft solved my problem.

    Hi Laurens,

    Thank you for your reply.

I also feel the same that somehow data is corrupt for container.

I had checked the Location directive and all seems to be Ok there.

Attached below location directive and Location profile (error occurred in 3 locations in 3 different Sales order, all belonging to same location Profile ID). I am not sure whether this is also a bug that its picking PAck location when couldnt find any other location having inventory.

    Hi Gaurav,

Regarding the pack location. What is the query setting in the location directive actions for sales orders?

    pastedimage1678907694983v1.png

For container, I get the feeling that the data is corrupt. My advice would be to create a ticket for Microsoft. I cannot understand how the container has been closed without a pack location (that what I see in the screen shot).

    Regards,

    Laurens
