Hi All,

What is the best way to connect AX2012R3 with AutoDesk Vault?

I need to get data from AutoDesk Vault to AX.

Can you elaborate what you mean by integration, please? What kind of data? In which form do you need them in AX?

Is it something you want to copy to AX or will AX sends a request when the data is needed?

What will be the trigger? What are your requirements regarding performance, reliability and so on?

    Hi Martin,

AX doesn't copy anything and it will send only a request when the data is needed.

The drawings of the BOMLine items were already stored in Auto Desk Vault and i have to retrieve that in AX and show it in a Form.

All right, if you want AX to make requests to Autodesk Vault, you should find out what APIs does Autodesk Vault (not D365FO) provides. D365FO will be a mere client of this API.

How you'll display the data in D365FO depends on your answers to "What kind of data? In which form do you need them in AX?".

Also note that I asked a few other questions. You don't have to answer them to me, but they're examples of things you must think about when designing your integration solution. For example, making a synchronous call to the Vault every time may be too inefficient (or not, it depends...).
