Can I change the heading for Collection 1 letter to Reminder Notice or something else.  Also, can I do the same for  Interest notes to late fees?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Sylvia,

Are you looking for a functional answer if it can be achieved using configuration or do you want to know how to customize reports via Visual Studio? Or do you want to change the labels on the end user forms?

Hi André, I would like to use the function that is in D365 to change  the headings on the collection letter s and interest notes. but if I cannot format this in D365.  I  would like to learn all the above .  Thank you

    Hi Sylvia,

Collection letter report is SSRS based so you need a developer to make required changes.

If you just want to change the body / text you can do by Form Notes.

    Good morning Sylvia,

The answer to your question depends ... :-)

If you use the 'old' SSRS reports for sending out collection letters/interest notes and alike then you cannot simply configure the headings but you need a developer doing that for you.

If you use the 'new' Electronic Reporting Business Documents then you can do the configuration yourself in the Electronic Workspace. you don't need a developer for that.

In case you need more information, have a look at the MS tectalk on electronic reporting that you can find via the resources tab on top of this page.

I also posted a number of posts on my blog about this and there are other sources available as well that demonstrate you how you can quickly modify your reports with Electronic Reporting.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

Hi, just chiming in as I came here looking into the same thing.  Seems very odd that the D365 Collection Letter document is setup to print the Collection Letter Code right on the letter, and can only be changed by a developer.  Who would want to send a collection letter that SAYS "Collection Letter" right on it?  A better choice for the Letter document would be the Descriptions, which are user-configurable; ours are 1st Notice, 2nd Notice, etc.
