Hide Fields from the Add Columns Window in Advanced Find View

Hi,

We have an entity where a specific field is not relevant to be added as a column in the advanced find view.

So basically I want to hide this field from appearing in add column selection list . From the following location :

Advanced find view > Edit Columns > Add Columns. Any way to do this?

Thanks,

Pradeep

    Hi Pradeep,

This is possible, you can set the field to "non searchable" in the field settings. However the field will not be searchable anymore so that is maybe the downside of it.

    Hi Robin,

Thanks for your suggestion. But this doesn't seem to solve the problem. The field has disappeared from the Select Drop down when you click on the 'New' Button in the advanced find view. Although it still appears in the Add column window.

Hi Mansoor, Is there an unsupported/unusual way? If so any guidance on that would be helpful.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

First of all, this looks like not a common requirement. Better you can try with field level security. So that users will not be able to see the data from that field.

change to not searchable (entity->fields->Searchable ('No')). so  it won't available for advanced find view add columns.

By making searchable('No'), we are just restricting the field in select option in advanced find, but we cant remove that field from advanced find add columns.

Field level security will show the field in advanced find column but if the user don't have the permission for those fields then they cant see the value

In my scenario, my user dont have permission for Est.Revenue field

Est.Revenue contains value, as this user dont have permission they are not able to see the value.

In case if you dont want any of the user to add Est.Revenue in add columns. Just change only the field display name(x-not used: Est. Revenue) like below, which tricks the user from not being selected the field.
