MailChimp Integration

I'm interested to know what people recommend for integrating with MailChimp.  I'm wanting to automatically sync leads with a list in MailChimp.  When that list receives a new contact, it will kick off a 30-day lead nurturing email automation.

We currently have PowerMailChimp but I'm not sure if it automatically syncs as soon as a lead is received in CRM.  I'm currently looking at Cazoomi SyncApps but interested what others may have done for similar situations.

    Hi Eden,

Have you tried using Zapier? zapier.com/.../microsoft-dynamics

It should be able to accomplish what you're trying to do.

    Cheers,

    Ryan

    RE: MailChimp Integration

I had a similar requirement recently and we went with the Power Objects PowerMailChimp integration.  Sync'ing dynamic marketing lists in CRM to MailChimp.  However, as we then discovered it will not sync these lists automatically and requires a manual sync from CRM for the list to be updated in MailChimp.  To get around this limitation we have had to add some custom javascript onto the Marketing List forms which calls the sync every time the form is opened, then we wrote a powershell script to open these lists programmatically and scheduled it to run every morning at 3am, this in turn fired the sync for each list.  Not ideal, or the most graceful solution I admit, but it works.

The other challenge we have had is that because we are sending campaigns to these lists directly from MailChimp and not using the PowerMailChimp blasts function, unsubscribes will exist only in MailChimp, so we have had to introduce a manual process to take these and update them back into CRM so our CRM data accurately reflects the MailChimp subscribers.

Other than these limitations I do find that the Power Objects integration works well and is very stable, and they're good with support.

That said, Click dimension's would in my opinion be the way to go for you if you have the budget, you get the nice looking HTML emails along with really nice campaign automation and lead nurturing capabilities, all inside CRM.

Hopefully one day CRM will be capable of creating nice looking HTML emails all by itself, trying to make emails created by the native email editor is still a frustrating and depressing task.

Definitely the easiest.  Had some issues initially as there was a bug with their integraiton in to CRM but got it up and running today and have to say it was incredibly easy for a non-technical person, would definitely recommend to others.

    Hi Eden

What did  you implement in the end?

    RE: MailChimp Integration

Hi Simon, in the end we're using Zapier, pretty easy to connect CRM and MailChimp through it and get leads pushed through to a list in MailChimp.

Only issue I have with Zapier's Dynamics CRM integration is it can only trigger "Zaps" (processes) based on a new account, contact, lead or opportunity being created.  It can't trigger a zap on an update being made to any of these.

    RE: MailChimp Integration

    Hello Eden,

We have created a MailChimp Integration which automatically sync leads with a list in MailChimp, so that you can always start every campaign in MailChimp, with an up-to-date mailing list.

You can learn more about this here: bit.ly/mailchimpintegration

If you have any more questions, you are more than welcome to contact me.

    Thanks,

    Regards.

    Adrian
