I want to create a production order in Business Central to manufacture a finished item. I want to see how this item is produced using 2 components and 2 workers/resources. Please guide me through all the setup steps. In the end, I want to be able to see how much of each component was consumed and how much resource time or cost was used.

Thanks

    Hello,

To manufacture a finished item using two components and two workers/resources in Business Central, start by creating item cards for the finished good and both components, ensuring all inventory and costing setups are defined.

Then, set up two resources representing your workers and define their unit cost and availability. Next, create a routing that includes two operations—each assigned to one of the workers—and define any required setup or run times.

After that, create a production BOM for the finished item, listing both components with their respective quantities, and certify it. Link this BOM and routing to the finished item on its item card by setting the replenishment system to “Production Order.”

Now, create a released production order for the finished item and refresh it to bring in the routing and components. Use the consumption journal to post how much of each component is used, and use the output journal to record labor time and quantity produced by each worker.

Once posted, you can view the production order statistics and ledger entries to see how much of each component was consumed, how much resource time was used, and the total production cost.

This is just the Simple process, other than that users are following various other functionality to achieve this for that you need to refer Microsoft Learn Documents as well for detailed knowledge.

    Regards,
