Hi there,
I'm designing a new Dynamics CRM 2011 infrastructure and I'm trying to find out a little more about the communication ports required for CRM Reporting access.
The variuos guides I'm looking through seem to refer to local windows firewall or internal firewall requirements, but I'm trying to figure out what I need for the external firewall and my reverse proxy (Barracuda WAF) in an IFD deployment.
Specifically I would like to understand if there is any requirement for web browsers to directly access the SQL Report Server. I have this as a dedicated server role and is currently positioned so that I can reverse proxy it out to the internet, but I've read a few articles and blogs (mainly about CRM 4.0) that suggest the client browser only actually talks to the CRM front end server, and CRM handles all of the communication with the SSRS server. To confuse things, the CRM 2011 'Service Provider' planning guide (I'm not a service provider but I've found it useful) actually sets up the external DNS record for the report server.
Can anyone clarify this for me?
Thanks,
Peter

I have the same question (0)Hi, I've found my answer over on the social.microsoft.com site.
