Restore factory settings

I've tried to add a load of customised fields but getting all muddled up. Is there a way of 'restoring factory settings' and clearing it all to start again? Wanted to start with a blank canvas... Thanks

    Hi Dave,

Are you using CRM Online or on premise?  If online are you in the middle of the 30 day trial or have you subscribed?  If on-premise, do you have a backup of your database?

Unless you are at the very, very beginning in a CRM on premise environment where you could delete the org and start over again, the simple answer is no. Or restore from a backup. But if you have data then that's not an option.

If you are online then definitely not unless you want to start again with a brand new organization url.

Dave, the only real solution is to manually delete all the custom fields which will  require that you remove them from Views and Forms etc before you can delete them.

If you try to import a clean unmanaged solution all the customizations that have made will still be there.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Thanks. Is online. Haven't imported any data yet so wouldn't be the end of the world deleting it. If doing it manually do I just delete from view?

    Dave,

Since you are using CRM Online the 'easiest' step would be to give up on your current installation and spin up another organization. You will just have to use a slightly different organization ID name ie if your original url was https://STSHealthandSafety make the new one STSHealthSafety as an example.

Great, will do that. I don't have to pay for another subscription though do I? On that note, if I owned two companies, could a contact be in both databases. I run a training company and a separate supplies company and wanted to attract the same customers; if that makes sense?!

So if your first environment is already out of the 30 day trial period then you will need to contact sales support and see if they can transfer the subscription for you. I don't know how they will react to your request.

Contacts could be in two DB but without third party software there won't be any automation between the two orgs.
