Currently we are using D365 add-in for outlook. We would like to set default activity view for diff. users based on their personal settings.
In other words, user A wants to see opportunity view by default in his outlook (see screenshot) using the d365 add-in but user B would like to see account view by default (pre-selected) in his outlook.
Unfortunately, as long as the user is in the same environment, they will see the same sitemap.
Even if they don't have the appropriate table permissions, they can still see the appropriate components of the application, they're just blocked by permissions.
The system will display the first component in line by default, which means you will need to move the account/opportunity to the front of the dashboard, and once moved, all users within the environment will be affected.
The only feasible way to do this is to design two custom model-driven applications with different layouts for different user preferences in the same environment, both of which need to be integrated with outlook separately.
But it's clear that this approach will only lead to more trouble.
