Hi Experts,

I am not able to make Project Group setup in ax 2012.

As given above screen shot . I am try to setup Project Group for Fixed Price but estimate->set up categories for estimate->sales value Blank.

While in Project categories , Category ID's are available.

Why Category id not showing in Project group(estimate->set up categories for estimate->sales value)

Hi,

You need to setup a separate and special category that has the checkbox 'Estimate' enabled.

If in doubt how to do that, take a look at the MS contoso demo company USSI where you can find an example how this setup is made.

Hi Faiz,

Step 1: Setup a new shared category

Step 2: Setup a category that is linked to the one created in step 1

Step 3: Setup project group

Hi,

Your category is linked to the transaction type.

Can you select "fee" instead and try again?

Why only type fee . What about Hourx,Expense and Item.

Hi Faiz,

The category is used and assigned to the sales estimate posting type.

This posting type is creating a revenue like accrual when the estimate process is run and posted.

The amounts posted depend on the hours, expenses, item transactions posted but the nature of the accrual is an fee; that is why.
