Develop a Customized Workflow for Inventory Journals in D365 FO

Hi there, I got a requirement to develop an Approval Workflow for Stock Journals (which is not having Out Of the Box Workflows) in D365 Finance and Operations.I need to Create Workflow for Inventory Management > Journal Entries > Items > Movement. I had finished the complete Workflow Process using this but the workflow button is not enabled after new record creation in the Movement Form. Can anyone help me in Creating an Approval Workflow for Movement Journals in which the Workflow process must be similar to General Ledger Workflows in D365 FO

Hi Prem Kumar,

Have you defined the workflow in the workflow parameters? Did you give any parameter that will reflect the custom workflow on the journal itself? If Yes, you have to define the workflow with a single step approver process.

Hi Zain, Thanks for the response.

Actully, the requirement we have is to enable Workflow Submit Button after the Creation of new record in Movement Journal and a dialog followed by as like General Ledger WF. I had followed (devmusings.blog/.../) this approach acordingly. Can you help with how to achieve it from the Scratch ?

Hi Prem Kumar,

You have to create a SubmitToWorkflow class.

The following code is used to open the dialog.

workflowSubmitDialog = WorkflowSubmitDialog::construct(args.caller().getActiveWorkflowConfiguration()); workflowSubmitDialog.run();
