Is it possible for Extended Pricing to put the "value off" into the markdown field in SOP?

I would like to use the value off and show that amount as a markdown on orders/invoices in SOP. When using it i get a popup asking to accept the discount, but it nets the price. Is there a way to populate the markdown field with the value off to show gross less markdown to equal net? This would be on a line item basis. i am currently running GP2010 R2.
