Can you attach files (add a file attachment) to a task in CRM?

I looked all over but there is nowhere for me to attach a physical file into a task (similar to being able to attach a file into an email)

You should be able to add attachments to a task. To add attachment to a task click on notes where you will see attach button

Yes you are correct, but it is missing from my Form. Could you possibly show me how to add it back in? Thank you.

you can notes control to task form using customization.

GO to settings-> Customization-> Entities-> Task -> Forms , select the form where you want to insert notes control. I already added notes control in my form so it shows in disabled mode. But if the control is not added to the form you should be able to add it to the form.
