CRM Add-in options grayed out for some users

I have multiple users, across multiple permission settings that can not use the Track in CRM options through Outlook.  The add-in is installed and the orginzation can be veiwed through the Outlook client.  When they try to use the track option or set regarding option which is grayed out they get an error mesage.  Any idea what permissions this could be?  Also, when they go to schedule a task from the tool bar the box that opens is in IE not in the Outlook client.

We are using CRM online.

    Hello,

I am having the same issue for a user.  I have re-invited the user.  I won't let us configure settings.  The Addin is enabled.

Any suggestions?  We are using CRM online and Outlook 2010.

Does the user have permission to Sync with Outlook?

On the security roles (Business Management Tab I believe) there is a setting that enables a user to sync to outlook. Is that checked?

    Thanks.

I can't find the sync config you are mentioning but I have other users with the same user configurations that are not having this problem.  So I don't think that is this users problem.  I think is a set up issue.

    Hi,

Refer "Track an Activity" section from below link :

    blog.orbitone.com/.../Minimum-Dynamics-CRM-Permissions

    social.microsoft.com/.../track-in-crm-error-security-permissions-crm-40

Also check if Primary Interop Assemblies is not installed on the users computer.

If this is related to user specific then configure CRM client on other system and check.

    Thank you.
