Physical inventory orders

Posted on by 40

HI BC friends,

I am preparing my first Physical inventory with Business central. I have a basic question:

Why Microsoft mentions in that "Note that if you use the Bins or Zones functionality, then you cannot use physical inventory orders. In stead, use Whse. Phys. Inventory Journal page to count your warehouse entries before synchronizing them with item ledger entries."

I am using warehouse location and Bin code, and tested the physical inventory orders in a sandbox environment. I did not see any issue with it.

This functionnality and recording with list is really great.

Thank you for you explaining me the issue with the physical inventory orders,

Best regards

Jerome

    Hi

Yes, when dealing with WMS (like direct putaway and pick setup to yes at location card level) then whse. Phys. Inventory journal is needed.

Your setup is basic warehousing so you can use physical inventory order.

    Hope helpful

    HI Renni,

    Thank you for your reply.

"This would depend on the set up, if you are using basic warehousing the physical inventory is fine."

    You mean physical inventory orders?

My warehouse setup is quite simple:

No Pick and no Bin suggestion.

I only use Warehouse location and Bin code.

    I attach the warehouse setup

This would depend on the set up, if you are using basic warehousing the physical inventory is fine.

If you do advanced warehousing you need to use the whse. phys. inventory journal.

And here is a nice article about physical inventory orders
