RMS 3.0 When is it becoming available or is it just hype?

About 6 months ago I was contacted by a Microsoft Partner, who was talking alot about all the things that RMS Store Operations 3.0 will be able to do.  Now it is 6 months later we are not working with that partner any more and I can not find any information about Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management System Store Operations 3.0.  We are currently holding off on several software purchases to enhance RMS 2.0 in hopes that 3.0 would contain several of these, but without a release date we are just blowing in the wind.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    Are you sure of that? I haven't seen the roadmap for a while but last time I checked MS was saying 2Q 2010. Do you have an update on the roadmap? I'd love to see what's coming.

    The new verision will be coming out in Aug.  They are not calling it 3.0 it will be called POS2009.

    Is this release for multi-store or is it only for single store deployments like MS POS?

    I'm eagerly awaiting an update for HQ/RMS.

    Its for HQ/RMS.  Not sure why they are calling it POS2009 i think it will just confuse people.

    I am an actual user (not a reseller) and I have the same problem. I need to know if they will fix the problems and add the much needed features and when they are going to do it. I am about to have to switch, and i dont want to because of the huge amount of money and time it will take.

    Hi Joey,

    I too am a "user". I just invested hundreds of my hours and 10's of thousands of dollars to allow settlement to Firstdata because I needed it this year and the information I had from MS indicated release date of 2Q 2010. I can pay for the project in savings in the first several months but what a waste of my time if this is coming down the pipe now and Firstdata is one of the features. Who is supposed to keep us in the loop on development of these things? I am going to be hacked.
