The Inventory value report does not show fixed values after inventory closing

Hi all, I'm having a problem with the Inventory Value Report on AX2012 R3.

I am using Weight average cost method and I always close the inventory monthly. I generated today morning the report between the dates 8/1/2018 to 8/31/2018. One hour later, I generated the same report on same dates and the Financial Quantity keeps the same value but the Financial Amount changes. Making several tests I realized that any later transaction to the inventory closing change this value, even when the 'To date' is a closing inventory date.

Is this the normal behavior of the report? Can anybody help me?

Thanks a lot!!

    Hi,

Can you explain what you mean by saying

"... any later transaction to the inventory closing change..."

What is this later transaction, how and why do you record it?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

Hi Ludwig, thanks for your reply!

I mean any transaction after the inventory closing, for example a sales invoice or a purchase receipt that I make on september the value changes.

    Hi,

Do you use the weighted average or weighted average date valuation principle?

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamicsax-2012/appuser-itpro/about-weighted-average-with-physical-value-and-marking

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamicsax-2012/appuser-itpro/about-weighted-average-date

Can you identify what retrospective changes are recorded? Do they come from settlements or other inventory transactions (purchases, sales)?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

I am using both methods. Some items have weighted average and others weighted average date. And the changes come from the inventory transactions, and from all of them, not for one in special.
