How to update from 8.0 to 8.2

Hi, I have a customer whom I installed and configured CRM 2016 8.0.0.1088 and tried to apply the update CRM2016-Server-KB4541723-ENU-Amd64. During the install I received the following error.
Dynamics 365 Update action microsoft.crm.setup.common.update.dbremoveaction failed. database having version 8.2.17.16 is not supported for upgraded
Now, in my deployment manager, I have both the CRM Server and SQL Server at 8.0.0000.1088 but the Org is at 8.2.17.16 (which is what I wanted).
How should I proceed? It seems as though I am missing a step?

    Hello,

    Try following:

    1. Delete Organization from Deployment Manager (leave DB on the SQL Server though).

    2. Install that update.

    3. Once update is completed import the organization using Deployment Manager.
