Normally we do a put-away for our items, sometimes leave the PO open, and then do a sales order right away, etc.

I am getting this error: "Lot No. 022426A19 is not available on inventory or it has already been reserved for another document." when trying to do an inventory pick. Never had this issue. I went ahead and contacted Purchasing for them to post the PO (never been necessary before) in order for the inventory pick to go through but even after posting the PO I am getting this error. On the Item Availability it shows available since we have not moved this Lot yet.

Please help, thanks!

I suggest you check the Reservation Entry table first.

leaving PO open won't affect your selling the item. After putting items away, it becomes inventory and available for sale.

Issue might be someone reserves the lot for a different SO, so it becomes not available. You could try the following

go to item card of the item, then check the reservation entries. Cancel the reservation if it has been reserved.

Or you could check if other SO has picked it which also making the lot unavailable

I found that there was an open Item Reclassification Journal for this item after a lot of searching from 3 months ago still pending. However, thanks for your suggestions all.
