General journal - no option to open in excel

Hi all,

I've been investigating how to open a general journal batch in excel and followed the instructions in the link below to add the "EXCEL EXPORT ACTION" permission set.

Cannot open and edit general journal in excel

However, when in a general (or recurring) journal batch I still don't have the option to open in excel.

Could anyone advise on this please?

Many thanks

I have the same question (0)

Check whether you have the Permission: EXCEL EXPORT ACTION

Hi Jyotsna, yes I have that permission but no change. It's only an issue on the general journals page as well..

    Thanks

Did you check it under the action Page > Edit in excel.

Check what kind of permission do you have. Is it No, yes or Indirect.

Also, is it happening for all users?

I included my screenshot in the original question and only "Show fewer columns" is available under "page".

Sorry, I'm not sure how I set the no,yes, indirect against this specific permission set but this is what I have under my user card:

And to confirm, yes this is impacting all users. Thanks

    Sorry about the screenshot.

If it is happening with all the users, then it might have to do with the Excel Add-in.

    Check these links:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../configuring-excel-addin

Let me know if it works!

No problem at all Jyotsna, and I appreciate your help. We will explore the excel add-in.

    Many thanks
