need help with human resources ax 2012

Good morning

How are you :)

I have AX 2012 and i have HR module

I need help to activate it from where should i start (if there any tips)

and one thing can I make a clock in / out for the employees with barcode number (like put it in the out door and the employees come to check in / out ) what the best bar code can work for this job ? and how can i activate it

Basically you need to integrate your system with a third party tool here ( i.e. the software that will be reading the punch in/punch out time of employee). If this is required to be done on real time basis then you have to look into AIF etc. stuff and if this is to be done say overnight then you may as well just create a file in external system which would contain say ( Emp ID, Time in Time out) and then insert into a table inside AX by running a a batch job from where it can be used in AX HR module.

I have a Card number for employee with other system and i wan't to make external system then enter it to AX

I want directly in AX system can i do this ?

Hi Jackie,

You have entered a very broad question. Where to start with HRM... You first have to determine which processes would be used in AX. E.g. leave registration, skills, payroll, performance management. For sure you need to start with jobs, positions and workers.

The functionality Manufactuing execution in AX has the option to use clock-in, clock-out. This is related to production orders. What is your purpose for the registration with cards?

Yes i know its a broad project

I need the clock-in/out for time staff in the company and the calculation of salaries, vacations and absences, like a Fingerprint device to know what the time this employee come to work and when he leaves and what the salary he will take from this like that

I have a Fingerprint and its external a excel file for the time of each employee have clockin - out

In above they have the clock in and clock out. What you could probably do is that update the ax table that contains the clock in/out time using a batch job and thus record an employee work days.

i try to open Calculate or Approve from Time and Attendance

but i get this error

Time calculation parameters has not been created

what the setting must entry for Parameters ?

Well in order to use the feature you will need to setup the parameters.

As the system need to understand what to do in situation like: what to do if a clock out entry is missing.

I am not a functional person so I can not tell much what all need to be done on this form. But do check out this technet.microsoft.com/.../aa634266.aspx
