Managed property sync search index disabled on managed solution and cannot be set

Our managed solution custom entity cannot be set for relevance search via managed properties as they are read-only. The issue is our development (source) environment is an on-premise and the entity managed property (sync search index) is not available to set in an on-premise environment.

If anyone has similar experience or ideas to resolve this issue, please post comment.

I managed to get this to work by setting these two managed properties on the database (on-premise) and now are defaulted on solution export.

<SyncToExternalSearchIndex>1</SyncToExternalSearchIndex>

<CanEnableSyncToExternalSearchIndex>1</CanEnableSyncToExternalSearchIndex>

Yes it was not exists in version 2016.Is there any possibility to create one unmanaged solution in your target environment with one single entity. And do the same for source entity.Make search enable in target unmanaged solution.Export managed solution from both the environment and try to check the differences of those two managed solution customization.xml. Hope you will get the differences of the solution xml.

Thank you for your response. However that is the problem that the source (unmanaged) being an on-premise environment fails to have this settings in the xml. This is major oversight and there needs to be a solution tot he problem, even if that means a database change.

Hope someone has a resolution soon. Any further ideas?

Hello ,

Sorry you can not change managed properties in managed solution entity. You can only change on top of unmanaged solution entity.

Hello ,

Could you please check whether Enable Relevance Search is enable in your system settings.

Go to Settings --> Administrator - > General tab - > Enable Relevance Search
