Data entity - Map Staging to Target - Generate Mapping doesn't generate linkage for one field

Hi,

We created a new custom data entity out of the custom table. It created staging table with all the fields of the target table. it shows mapping in 'Mapping Details' tab in Data management for all the fields between Staging and target table. but when i got to 'Mapping VIsualization' tab , i see that one field has no linkage between staging and target. I tried clicking 'Generate Mapping' but it doesn't make any difference.

Any idea what could be the reason?

Try Generating mapping on entity by going to data entities tile then delete entity record from your data project and add entity again by selecting your source file and see if it helps.

additionaly sometimes do the regeneration twice and if still does not work then deleting and recreating should work

Hi VRD,

It is not intended to have record ID fields part of a data entity. These can be different per environment. They should be replaced with a natural key field. E.g. the released products (InventTable) has a field to the global product on a record ID. The data entity is not using the record ID, but the natural key which is the product number.

You can add another datasource or a virtual column to display the Resource key value.
