Imported Item through Config Package Behave Differently For Standard Cost

Posted on by 15,419
Hi

I imported many items to BC through Config package. The cost is Standard Cost. Then turned on /Post Expected Cost/ in Inventory Setup. I expected to see interim GL entry when I receive the PO. But I do not see this.

Then I created a new item with same setup and for this new item I can see interim g/l entry when I receive the PO. The items have identical setup.

What I am missing here?

I am happy to hear that you got it fixed.
It could be a validate issue.
I think it can be tricky to make sure that all the validation is being correct when I use the config packages.
You have to make sure to enable field validation for each field that should be validated.
That is one of the reasons I often use other ways of importing data into BC. I feel like I have less control when I use config. packages.
I know other loves them, so it is more about my personal preference.

    Thanks Mr Bruvik

I checked everything and did not work. I solved it by

    1) Deleting all those items

    2) Just uploading item no and item description using config package. Just to create them

    3) Downloaded the package with all items then added the rest of the setting and it worked

Not sure why uploading all fields as one package did not work

I am sure you have already checked this. But the obvious reason would be if the standard cost was defined to 0 for the one item where you see no expected cost.
I also wonder if you test with this item being the only one on the PO?
