    Hello Ravi,

    Ensure the Dimension set get the maximam dimensions segments,

    If there is an account structure as the following (Main Account-Business Unit-Vendor) and you select dimension set contains (Main Account - Business unit) that will not come up on the results, you have to create dimension set contains the three dimensions.

    Re: Balance by dimension on a total account

     Hello Sir,

    Here is the screen shot for a Total Account.  We can run a dimension statement directly from the account itself. That is printing out empty (see screen shot 2). On the contrary when I take a dimension statement out for another account that is transactional (by transactional I mean Revenue, Profit and loss, Expense, Balance Sheet etc.) I can see the balance being printed out (see screen shot 3). Please guide me if I’m missing any steps. I have rebuild the balances as well for that particular dimension set.

    Regards,

    Ravi

    HI Ravi,

    If you have created new dimension set you have to Initialize balances, and you can try Rebuild balances/updated balances.

    Hope it will work

    Hello Aamer,

    I have tried using the dimension statement report with dimension sets in AX 2012 (primary and secondary) for a total account but got blank report for it.

    Are you getting data on this report. Please suggest.

    Regards,

    Ravi

    Re: Balance by dimension on a total account

    Hi Ravi,

    You have to select Dimension Set first

    InAX 2009 ->General Ledger->Setup->Financial Statement->Dimension Focues

    In AX 2012->General Ledger->Setup->Financial Dimensions->Financial Dimension Sets

    Then you have two options to get balance by dimensions:-

    In AX 2009

    1- On Chart of Accounts form select Total account, and press Balance button-> select Balance by Dimension then select dimension focus you need.

    2- Generate Dimension Focus report, identify dimension focus, and ledger account

    GL-> Reports->Transactions->Dimensions Statement

    In AX 2012

    1- Common forms->Trial Balance-> Select Financial Dimension Sets

    2-Generate Dimension Statement Report,  identify dimension focus, and ledger account

    GL-Reports->Transactions->Dimension Statement

    Regards
