Hi all,

I want to set another form for show/edit entity (f.e. account). I mean, when I click to the some account, I want to see another form than I click to create account.

Now I have one form for create and show/edit. Not quick create. How can I do this?

Thank you for replies.

    Hi Guedda,

You can set form orders and move the form on top that you want to show.

Go to settings>>Customization>> Customize the system>> Select Entity "Account">>Go To Forms>>Form Orders>>Select Form Type (Form type that you have specified for new form)>> Reorder>> Publish customization.

If my response helps you, please mark it as "Verified".

    Best Regards,

    Abhishek

I know, how to create forms. But I want more.

Lets imagine, that I have default form "Information" and I create another mainform "ShowAccount". When I click on "New Account" I see "Information"-form. This is good. But if I click to existing account, I see "Information"-form too. But I need to see "ShowAccount"-form. How can I do this? I don't find anything about my problems in your links.

    Hi Guedda,

Have a look at my post in this thread:

    community.dynamics.com/.../200722

You could replace the 'New' button in the ribbon with a custom button and put Javascript to call your 'NewAccount' form.  This would force that form to be opened when a user wants to create a new record.

You would then set your 'ShowAccount' as the default form, CRM would then open this form when an existing record is opened from a list view.

    Hope that helps

    Bharat

Depending on the complexity and differences between the 2 forms you could show/hide tabs/sections/fields with JavaScript depending on the Form Type:

    Hello,

You can use two options, either assign entity forms to specific user security role if you want to manage forms based on security role (although it don't look like you wan to do it based on security role, but just want to mention this option)

    Or

Define criteria to open different form based on some logic, may be based on some option set or other field value , and you can write javascript/plugin to open specific form based on this logic.

Still the easiest way will be to show/hide field as suggested Bharat.

    Thanks

Thank you very much, but I don't know how can I hide New button and Add my custom button and how I can add to this button JavaScript function. Please, help me.

I downloaded RibbonWorkbench.zip, but there are several xml-files, which I don't understand too.

use ribbon workbench editor to create new button and to hide new button use display rule.

if formType != 1 then show else hide.

it can be easily downloaded and imported using solution wizard

if you don't want to use 2nd form for creation of records then just click right on new button and select hide and publish the customization without using display rule
