I_MINITRAIL - PERIODS date filter now defaults to 12/01/9999..12/31/9999

Since the new year, the date filter continues to default to 12/01/9999...12/31/9999 even though I change it each time I need to view the report. How can I stop it from defaulting to this range?

I want this to display on my home page up start up too.
