Plugin not showing up in Plugin Registration Tool

Hi All,

I am new to dynamics & I am trying to update an existing plugin using the Plugin Registration Tool.

I could not find the plugin in the tool which I was going to update. So I registered a new assembly & registered a new step with "Update" message to it.

Now the plugin is visible in the registration tool, but the logs which I added is still not showing up in the trace logs, it's still showing older ones.

Please help me out on how to update the existing plugin.

Hi Siddharth,

just to be clear - you dont update an individual plugin but the whole assembly which might have multiple plugins within.

so look for the assembly which contains this plugin.

Could you please share the bit of code that writes to the log? And if possible could also share the screenshot of the plugin steps you are trying to update, please remember to mask any name or text that is sensitive when you share the screenshot

I would also try and throw an InvalidPluginExecutionException with a meaningful message and see if you are able to see the log in the plugin trace

Hi Rawish,

Thank you for your response, I have checked each node but the plugin name was only not present. After adding the newer assembly it's showing up. But nowhere the older one is present.

okay - you mentioned the old trace is showing , in the trace it would show the plugin name as well. did you try look with that name.

also - are you sure , you are connected to the right organization of your crm?

Hi Kokulan, Thank you for your response. I am just logging in a few texts. So that I could verify If the correct DLL has been updated.

But the previous texts are getting logged to trace, which means the plugin has still not been updated.

Hi Rawish, I think I was not connected to the right organization, I used Xrm Toolbox to Register this plugin & it worked. Don't know why the Plugin Registration tool was not working.
