item movement report

ReportReport

I need to run a report to identify items that are not moving/turning the way we want.  I would like a way to see a list of what they are based on quantity sold over a time period.  I have no experience writing queries so take that into consideration.  I may be asking for the impossible?

If u r looking for an SQL quer that does the job for u, then nothing is impossible, just explain it further and I will write it for u.

What I understood is that query input would be the period and quantity sold, and the query output is that items having the their sold qty matching the quantity u specified within the specified period, is this correct?

    I am not sure.

I want to be able to run a query that will tell me how many (or few) items of each sku have sold during a certain time.  This will help me identify if items are not moving fast enough to be worth carrying.  ex... I have 20 sku's and it has been 8 months since we tried a new display.  I want to see how many of each of the 20 skus sold.  if I have a goal of 10 to have sold the finished report will show me which items were below that mark if any.

That is a small scale example of what I am looking for.  I have 20,000 sku but the same principle applies.

Let me know if that helps?

Getting this Answer would be a great help.

You have three factors to calculate your movements

Purchased QTY - Item Movement table

Sold QTY - Transaction entry table

Current stock QTY -- Item table

Time factor must take into consideration

    Hi,

I am not very specific about the Fields and Parameters, I want to see which are the products not moving at all for a specific time and of which supplier? May be Purchased Qty, Sold Qty, Current Qty (Store Level), Supplier, etc...,

    Thanks in advance.

I agree.  The quest is to find a single report that will translate the different factors into compact form.  If I can select the department or category and print the "compact movement report" to determine what products are moving and what items need to be eliminated.  I am trying to avoid analysis paralysis.  I know there is a way to get the information for each factor... I wonder if we have a way to consolidate all the steps to get one good report.

I need "UPC" "DEPARTMENT" "LAST PURCHASED" "QTY SOLD".  I can take the information from the report and import it into an external spreadsheet to get more information.  I want to be able to put in a date range and search.  I am trying to determine turnover rates.  If I set a goal for each product to reach a level of turnover, this will help me see what is failing to meet the necessary return.  If you have an alternative suggestion, I am all ears.

    Thanks!
