Managerial Hierarchy in workflow - Issue with highest position in organisation

Hi, has anyone experience with the managerial hierarchy in workflows or know who can help us?

We setup an invoice workflow while using the hierarchy instead of users, because we have different departments and different budgets for the approvals. The workflow runs correct as long as the highest person/position in the organisation is the latest approver. If the highest position (position no. 000032) is the approver we are getting this notice:

Exception: A reports to position was not found for position '000032' using the 'Line' hierarchy type. Go to 'Positions', find position '000032' and set the 'Reports to' position.

But the highest position cannot report to anyone. We think the ID of this position isn't setup correctly, but we do not know what could be wrong or missing.

Can anyone help us?
