Can't delete Sales Order! Please help

Hello everyone!

We have Dynamics NAV 2016. We ae trying to delete a couple of orders, but we cant do it.

The error we get when trying to delete the SO is: The tax document could not be found.

The error we are getting if we try to delete the line item is: You cannot delete the order line because it is associated with purchase order PO#### line 10000.

The problem is the PO number it is referencing has been deleted. So at this point, we have this open order in our system that could be released and that would not be good.

Can someone tell me how to get this out of our system?

    Hello Dear,

    you can reopen the order and unlink with purchase order from sales line section. Hope, after doing this activity, you can easily archives the sales order.

    Hello and Thank you for your response. Are you saying I can reopen a deleted purchase order? When I search for the deleted purchase order I cant find it.

    Hello dear,

    I am sorry for the little bit confusion, please reopen the sales order and then remove purchase order references from existing sales order, which you want to delete it. I hope you can understand.

    The sales order is currently open. Where do I remove the PO references from?

    Hello,

    Based on what you are writing, have you made a reservation on the Sales Line against an inbound Purchase Order. Check on the Line under Reservation Entries. You can cancel the Reservation. If this is not the case, on the Sales Line, is the field Purchasing Code populated? If yes, meaning Drop Shipment or Special Order, then you will need to delete the related Purchase Order then delete the value in the field to disconnect the relationship.

    Thank you so much for your help. The reservation entries was empty. The line item does have SPECIAL in the purchasing code. I tried to delete SPECIAL from the line item and I got an error that says “You cannot change Type because the order line is associated with purchase order PO### line 10000.”

    Can you tell me what I can do next?

    Hello,

    You have a Purchase Order link to the Sales Order. You must first delete the Purchase Order linked before you can change/delete the Sales Order.

    In the error I showed in my previous message, the PO# it is referencing has been deleted already. But when I try to delete that Sales Order, it says it can’t because it is associated with a Purchase Order that has been deleted.

    I do not see any references on the line item in the order. Nor can I delete that item. Thank you for your help. What should I try next?
