Hi,

Is it possible to change the warehouse on an inventory location if some transactions exists?

If not then how do we delete or disable the location as I plan to create a new location with the same location name against a new warehouse which is allowed.

No. You can not change warehouse on a location.

Create a new location on the new warehouse.

You can keep the old location since it is connected to the other warehouse.

If you need to have the location unique for some reason, you can rename the location. Go to the location setup, right click, Post Info and select rename.

Thanks a lot. Is there a way to delete the old location permanently? I tried doing it and get error message "cannot delete location since open transaction exists"

Not able to figure out a solution.

    Any pointers?

You can forcefully delete it, but deleting it will create inconsistency in your database. A location is connected to the InventDim that again is connected to a bunch of transactions all over the system. You could go hunting and changing these, but you are better off renaming it to something that is on the bottom of your location list.

If you can ensure that the location contains no stock, and you can close all the inventory transactions related to that location, I believe you can delete a location.

    Hi,

One suggested way is to block a location instead of deleting for input and output in case its not needed anymore.

This does not work for advance warehouse management in AX.
