Excel import to GL entry

Posted on by 590

My client saw some free software that will allow you to copy and paste into the GL entry screen. I found ones but all ones that are free against Fabrikam.

Any suggestions or links would be great. Thanks

"Financial Elementz" from www.gpelementz.com contains a GL Journal Import function direct from Excel and allows you to store unlimited numbers of spreadsheet definitions for import.

There are other useful windows, reports and utilities in Financial Elementz also.

MVP Mohammad Daoud and DynamicsInnovations have a product that is free for pasting into the GL. Other modules are available for a price. It's really easy to setup and use.

The product is called Dynamics GP Excel Paste and I covered it in my Convergence sessions.

Microsoft Dynamics GP Excel JE Upload

ZSL's Microsoft Dynamics GP Excel JE Upload is a dynamic add-on component that provides cost effective solution to import journal entries created in Excel straight away into General Ledger as a batch without the interface, Integration Manager. You can upload the data in the Excel file to a general Journal batch. You can also upload data from the pre-defined template of Excel file to general Journal batch. This is an add-on product can be integrated and accessed from the “General Ledger” menu under “Periodic Activities”.

You don't find much in terms of free software for GP.  There are a few ISVs that have a tool kit they provide free with some simple tasks as an introduction to their other products.

Check with Willoware and Rockton software to see what they might have.
