pasting journal from excel - dimension values don't copy

I have the following journal in excel which I want to paste into a NAV General Journal:

Everything pastes into the NAV journal except for the Job Code and the Department code.  Why does this happen?  I know that the fix for this is to move the Job Code and the Department code so that they are after the Bal.Gen Posting Type.  But I would still like to know why it doesn't work if the columns are as shown in the picture?

    hi SergeiJ ,

yes you are correct you now the fixed actually right the reason is  Job Code and the Department code referring Bal.Gen Posting Type its allocating and capturing by inside

so that Bal.Gen Posting Type should be in first whats going to posting (rg : Purchase /sales/settlement) according to that the dimension levels items / production are allocated

    its like priority ,

when you paste actually its copied, its there but when Bal.Gen Posting Type applied its refresh the lines on dimensions that the issue

you know the solution its the right , just follow that :)

I have another issue with pasting from excel - perhaps you can advise me on this as well.  When I paste a "Null" value into Gen Posting Type - NAV comes up with a validation error "Your entry of '' is not an acceptable value for 'Gen.Posting Type'.  However, when I click on the options for Gen Posting Type and select the blank, NAV then accepts the entry.  Is there any way around this?

    if wanna send "Null" value

mark you excel Gen Posting Type field as "0"

    dont use any other charters

    Nope.  This did not work.

However, I have solved my problem in pasting from excel - it took be almost all day yesterday in figuring it out.  But I also had to rewrite/amend a macro in excel that creates the journal.  This is the column layout that finally worked:

    Posting Date

    Document Type

    Document No.

    Applies-to Doc.No

    Account Type

    Account No.

    Description

    Amount

    Bal. Account Type

    Bal. Account No.

    Gen.Posting Type

    Job Code

    Department Code

For anyone else still struggling with this issue, I think I have discovered a solution.  NAV does not like pasting blank cells from Excel into Option fields which have a Blank option - Document Type, Gen. Posting Type etc.  If, however, you put a Space character into these fields on your Excel template, then this does not cause the error.  Problem solved!
