Create a Word Template for a Modified Report

Hello,

Im trying to create a word template for a modified report In MSGP

But when I go to New it doesnt let me chose "From Existing Template"

I can click on the create button and it'll just create a blank word document.

can someone help please to create a new word template?

Another thing that I noticed when browsing for this report on Report Maintenance screen was that there were some reports with a * in fornt of their Report name? what are these and what's the difference between the two types?

It'd be really helpful if someone could help

Hi,

Your report doesn't come with a pre-designed template. Not all of the reports have one. GP only created templates for certain 'out-facing' documents. Things like the SOP and POP documents and some others. What you need to do is to first create a template using the template generator tool. It's a command line tool, but it will get you to the starting point so that you can modify it to your liking without creating it from scratch. The Reports with the asterisk are defaults. You cannot change the default formats.

You can download it from this link:

It is free but you will need to have access to CustomerSource, if you don't have access to it, you can you ask your Microsoft Partner to download it for you.
