Dynamics 365 App for Outlook ribbon not showing

Hi,

I want to install the Dynamics 365 App for Outlook so I am following the recommended instructions.

I made sure my user account has the App for Outlook security role and also checked my user mailbox sync method as:

Incoming Email - Server Side Synchronization or Email Router

Outgoing Email - Server Side Synchronization or Email Router

Appointments, Contacts and Tasks - Server Side Synchronization

So I went to install manually from the settings button, clicked Add app to Outlook, and the message said that it is installing in the background, and after a while I refreshed the page and it seemed to install successfully, now saying that it is already installed. However, when I reloaded my Outlook there was nothing, no Dynamics button on the ribbon. I even checked the add-ons to see if it was disabled, but it was not in the list.

We are running Dynamics 365 CE, Exchange Online, and Outlook version 2016

Can anyone help me resolve this issue please?

Thanks,

Darren

    Hi Darren,

    Greetings!

Above suggested support article should resolve your issue. please do let us know if its working fine after checking the solution mentioned in the article.

Also ensure if you were able to see it from the webmail ( outlook owa) outlook.office365.com/owa and verify the App for outlook icon.

If you still encounter an issue, would request you to contact our MS Dynamics support to assist you.

I have double checked all points in the linked article, but I still have this issue. I suspect this could be a permissions/policy issue from Office 365 which is administered by someone else in our organisation which I don't have access to. Could this be possible? Does anyone know which Office 365 rights are needed?

Are you able to view it from Outlook Web?  Is it working from there?
