Hi All,

Please confirm me on below questions.

We are going to install CRM D365 premise version in Azure,

Is it compulsory that the SQL server and CRM on premise installation in the same server?

Can we use Exchange online for mailing system or we should use Exchange onpremise?

Thanks and Regards,

Parashuram Jadhav

IFD should be configured on the CRM On-premise server, yes.  Even though it will be accessible from the internet, it will still require your AD logins to access.  Here's an article on configuring this server-side email integration - docs.microsoft.com/.../mt703269(v=crm.8)

Thanks Allison Walters, It will definitely help me while deploying on premise CRM D365 in azure. You mean I should configure the Internet - facing deployment in Onpremise version?

If yes then could we restrict the CRM Dynamics accessing from public place except our internal Active directory members?

Agreed with the above response re: SQL and Dynamics.  As for Exchange, you can use Exchange online.  However, if you want a full server integration for all items (not just emails but tasks, appointments, etc...), that works independently of the users' Outlook, you will need to have the Dynamics server configured for Internet-Facing Deployment.  This is a relatively tricky setup that requires a fair amount of sys admin background, as it deals with Active Directory Federation Services.

It is not compulsory that they be on the same server. In fact for production deployments, it is recommended that they are deploy on separate servers in accordance with standard segmentation of app and database layers. If you are deploying a development environment, you can definitely have SQL and Dynamics on the same server.
