Run-time error '214721900 (80040e14)':

I am getting the following error message when attempting to synchronize the offline database:

A few things:

I am on RMS version 2.0.0162
I have the store database on Register 1
I am receiving the error on register 2 only
I have set register 1 with a static IP address
I have SQL 2008 R2 installed on both registers
I have made sure that incoming connections are allowed (TCP/IP and Named Pipes)
I have increased he connection timeouts for both the database and the offline database in Store Operations Administrator
I have set the SQL Browser Service to start automatically

Does anyone have a solution I could try?

What ended up fixing this was adding the exceptions in windows firewall

The only static IP address one needs is on the Server machine.

Try adding the IP of the Server to the Network Client Utility I the RMS Start folder Alias tab using TCP/IP.

Also make sure that the 2005 Backward Compatibility Component is installed on all machines running SQL from here; www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx
