I have Timline(Notes, Activity) control which is showing good for System Admin but not showing to role which i created. Getting the below error while opening a record.
Timeline could not be loaded due to an unexpected error. Please refresh the page to reload the timeline.
Help to resolve the issue.

I used the FormXML Manager (in XrmToolBox) to edit the XML form on each form (account, contact, ...) in order to delete the old custom activities from the forms. These activities have been removed from Dynamics CRM last week.
error message "Timeline could not be loaded due to an unexpected error. Please refresh the page to reload the timeline."
We were able to sort the issue with the help of MS Support.
Actually the issue is with Timeline control configuration, one of the custom activity entity from our Dev environment was not deployed in any other regions, but still the Activity Card for that particular custom activity entity was mapped in the customizations.xml & moved as part of solution.
Workaround: Export the solution with the entity Form where Timeline is used, extract & edit the customizations.xml file, remove the unwanted activity from csv config named <UClientActivityCardMap>, zip the solution & import it back. It worked.
We are facing this issue only in one custom entity of one environment only. Same timeline is working fine in other custom entity in same environment, same entity in other environment.

this could cause by one of the bug before service update 2 v9.0. You can check the current version of your crm.

Double check the role you created, are they having the correct privilege for Notes and Activity.
