There can be various reasons for that but first please check the posting profile of that item

    Hi Naveen,

The category has the suffix "DO NOT USE". This might be there for a reason. However, if you click Fix issues in the error log, you might get more information about what validation caused the update error.

    Hi,
I checked my sourcing category and didn't find that one in your screenshot, maybe that's user-defined.
You can check the Procurement Category settings. Can I know if you chose this procurement category out of curiosity, or if there is a corresponding business scenario that requires this procurement category, since it says DO NOT USE?
If this is not an option, you can also choose to create a new procurement category and add products to your new procurement category. You can check the official documentation: Set up a procurement category hierarchy - Supply Chain Management | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn. There is also a blog that details how to create and set up purchase categories, add products to new purchase categories, and use purchase categories on purchase orders: dynamics-tips.com.
    Best regards.
    Kevin
