server sync error

Posted on by 2,397

Hi, I am trying to set up email sync between CRM and outlook,  the test mailbox is fine for incoming mail, and appointment, not for outgoing mail. I keep getting the error that "An impersonation error occurred in accessing the mailbox while sending the email message "Test Message", The account does not have permission to impersonate the requested user." It looks like I need add some permission to my account but I can send and receive email through outlook.

    Can you please share a screenshot of the mailbox record of one of the users that is getting the error?

    I am selecting "Credentials Specified by a User or Queue. " and it is on premises. I am using service account, it is just regular user account.

    What kind of email server are you using? Is the Exchange? On-Premise?

    If that's the case::

    If you are using a service account on your email router/server side sync to connect to Exchange, make sure that that account has impersonation role.

    This article might help you out as well:

    Note the following:

    Credentials Specified in Email Server Profile. If you select this option, the credentials specified in the email server profile are used for sending or receiving email for the mailboxes of all users and queues associated with this profile. The credentials must have impersonation or delegation permissions on the mailboxes associated with profile. This option requires some configuration on the email server, for example, configuring impersonation rights on Exchange for the mailboxes associated with the profile.

    Hope this helps.
