What is the purpose of the field SOP10200.BKTSLSAM?

In creating an import routine for sales orders using eConnect I have noticed when I compare records done by GP vs records created by the import the field BKTSLSAM is getting the extended price of the goods.  Obviously both records should be identical and I do want to eliminate this difference.

SDK says:  Backout Sales Amount: If there is a Tax included with item price detail, then this is the true sales amount.

Thanks, so why when I enter an order in GP this field is zero but when I import it using eConnect it has the value of Extended Price?

    Hi Richard,

It must have some relation to your other ticket regarding tax calculations (were you able to resolve?).  I've looked at a couple of my projects but both those (and current company) don't calc taxes on orders/invoices for integration so I don't have an example of that field with a value.  I've never seen anything other than zero in that field.  If I can get motivated I'll setup a test with the pusher tool to see if when I calculate taxes on an eConnect integration if I get something in that field.

My general belief is it just doesn't matter as eConnect is an abstract of the business logic (maybe 80% function)  so I've seen a few times not quite the results I would expect if I was using the UI.

    Tim

I am hoping when I return Monday morning after a couple of days away I will be able to think this one through. As soon as I added a customer with sales tax my call to taSOPIvcHdrInsert no longer inserts the header record. The error I get is "document amount does not equal the total." So I am not sure whether I have to compute the sales tax amount and send it down or will eCONNECT take care of that. The documentation is very unclear about that.
